We rise at 7:00 [local time] after our fitful night. Leaving the cabin we head for the lifts to wait for the disembarkation clearance, but a steward tells us we can go down now.

We have plenty of space and plenty of time, but soon the lorries are moving and we follow. We park and wait for the others as agreed last night. Chris and Roger set about fixing our buggy rack plug which got damaged by grounding on the Torpoint ferry's steep ramp. The plug is broken but a good lashing of tape soon has it working until we get home.

We say goodbye and go our separate ways.

At 9:45 we leave the dual carriageway and head into Plounevez-Moedec where Ali finds a patisserie and gets pain au chocolat and pain au raisin which we have with coffee.

Another stint on the big road brings us to Montauban for a supermarket to get groceries. We leave the dual a final time near Vitre and stop at 14:30 for coffee and sandwiches.

Only the last 5 miles are single carriageway and as usual with France Passions the last mile is single track.

At no particular landmark on this track Snoopy announces 'you have reached your destination'. We pull into a farm track and check the coordinates, which are as listed in the book, so Ali takes a walk up the lane and returns with news that it a quarter mile away.

A few minutes later we are parked at Ferme de Cornesse next to a plantation of young apple trees.

Fabien, the Owner appears and we head across to his shop to buy some of his produce.

From 7 hectares he produces 15000 bottles a year comprising cidre, pommeau, juice and vinegar.

We buy some demi-sec, some pommeau and a jar of honey.

We sit in the late afternoon sunshine next to the orchards. The apples glisten red and green in the sun while the breeze whispers through the leaves.

Early evening clouds over so we go inside for supper of tuna salad and a bottle of cidre.

There is a beautiful sunset his evening. Soon after dark we go to bed and when he lights go out we gaze through the roof at a sky full of bright stars.
