After a rough and noisy night, breakfast was at 9am - toast and fruit. At about 10, we headed out onto Lake Victoria on a dodgy handmade sailing boat. We sailed around another island (this one was much smaller than Rusinga), and back to the place, which took about an hour and a half.
We chilled in our rooms until lunch at about 1 - chapatis and lentil type stuff. Very nice!!
Nasir (our driver) came at about 2.30 to take us round the island on a small tour. We first visited a fishing village, where it STANK of raw fish, then headed over to Tom something memorial and museum - he was involved in the first airlift from Kenya to USA so students could study in America!! Fun fact - Barak Obama's dad was on the first airlift!! We then went over to Rusinga Island Lodge for tea. It costs $500 a night per person!!!!!! Crazy!! But it did look very nice, with a dock, swimming pool, spa, gym, and speed boats.
After tea, we headed back to the place we're staying, to relax before supper.
After supper, I went straight to bed as tomorrow is a very early start!!!!
