We were not impressed by the 5.30 wake up call this morning. The phone rang at least 6 times before someone bothered to pick it up!! But we got up, dressed and ready with our suitcases in time (earlier in fact!!). We took our suitcases downstairs to the reception area, then went for breakfast. The best and tastiest breakfast!! Apart from the wake-me-up sour pineapple and the dodgy mango juice, everything else tasted AMAZING!!!! I have never tasted such amazing chocolate croissants!! I had 2 or 3, and saved 2 for later!! Yummy doughnuts, delicious mushrooms, and amazing pastries!! We were stuffed and ready to leave!!
We got all our suitcases and waited by the entrance/exit, and the parents got stressed trying to find a driver to take us to the airport. We found one called Vincent in the end, and he drove us to the airport door in 10 minutes flat!!
We checked in easy, and then had just over an hour until boarding time from Nairobi to Amsterdam. That was, until we found out about the "fuel shortage" (according to the tv news) but according to the airline, it was a problem last night with the fuel pump. Not sure what to believe!! Bit that made us over an hour later, which then meant, after an 8 hour journey watching films and trying to sleep, we had to find the transfer desk (which happens to be very difficult to find in an airport!!) in order to check when we were being flown over to London - we missed the flight we were meant to be on. We had to wait 2 hours, so sat down in a cafe and I had some milk :)
We finallyyyyyy took off!! At 7.20pm Amsterdam time. The flight was boring and out family was split up, but we eventually got to Heathrow, went through the epassport thing (for the first time!!), got the bags, found our car, and drove HOME!!!!!!!!
