So today, we got up (too) early to set off towards the Rhino Retreat up in the Aberdares - a hugeeeee safari park up in the hills. The journey overall took around 10 hours or so, stopping for a half hour on the way, to pick up Ken (krissie's dad).
The last few hours of the journey was through the park itself, and we saw SO much wildlife!!!! 11 elephants, a lot of buffalo (which look exactly like bisee in Nepal), a few warthogs, 3 groups of forest hogs (including babies), various birds, water buck, bush buck, a white tailed mongoose, and the other car saw a collabus monkey!! The light was amazing, and I got some beautiful sunset pictures. We also stopped off at a waterfall which we looked over and was incredibly tall and very scary!!
When we got to the retreat we were all very thankful and tired!! The fire was on as outside was freezing!! (Being 3000 metres above sea level).
After a yummy supper of spaghetti bolognese and treacle tart, I went straight to bed I was so tired!! And we were going to get up at 6.30 the next day for a morning safari!!
