Today was amazing!! It was an early start, so I wasn't quite awake until around 10ish... Kristina says I'm the only non-morning person she knows!!
We had a really good breakfast which consisted of sausages, bacon, toast, croissants, juice and tea.
After breakfast we jumped into the cars and set off to the elephant orphanage!!!! There were 2 groups of elephants from 3 months up to about 4 years old. In the second group we saw Naipoki, the 3 year old elephant who krissie and her family helped rescue when the elephant was 2 months old after falling down a well. All very exciting!! Our family are now adopting/sponsoring Naipoki because its an awesome thing to do, and Naipoki is a special elephant :) after seeing the elephants being fed, we had a quick loom round then set off to the Giraffe Manor!!
At the Giraffe Manor there was the opportunity to feed the giraffes!!!!! Only one giraffe that was eventually brave enough to come up to the balcony where we were standing with pellets of food in our hands. Their tongues are hugeeeeeeely long!!!! And lots and lots of saliva!! Seumus fed a giraffe by putting a pellet in his mouth which was hilarious!! I got a picture right at the exact moment!!
After feeding the giraffe we had a quick look at the tortoises and I fell in love!! No matter what, I am going to get myself a little tortoise at some point and call it Gary or Squirt!!
We drove to lunch at Karen Blixen's Coffee Garden where I had a chicken Caesar salad which was served in an edible basket made out of a hard chapati-type thing which was quite tasty!!
After lunch we went to see some family friends of kristina's, the dad had recently been in a horrible motorbike accident and was telling us all about his therapy. He's Dutch-Zimbabwean and has a Dutch wife. 2 kids, the daughter one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen and who had made the most GORGEOUS chocolate cake!! They were staying in Kristina's godfathers house (who wasn't there) so had the two dogs, Waffle (a huge cuddly St. Bernard), and Mini (a tiny jack Russell who licks almost anything!!).
We stopped off at an amazing jewellery store and I bought a bracelet made of camel bone which is meant to bring "super good luck"!!
Then I went down to the pool back at the country club and chatted to people over the wifi, and heard alllllll about the end-of-year trip to Kavos, and I'm very glad I didn't go!! But still sounds amazing :)
After a chilled time with tea by the pool, we got dressed and went out for an amazing indian curry!! We got a few plates and shared them out, so I got some black daal, jeera chicken and chicken tikka masala!! Along with a Smirnoff ice of course!! Then a chocolate milkshake for pudding :)
Went back to the country club and went straight into bed (after a quick FaceTime with my favourite man!!) and slept like a baby (again!!).
