So at 7am we arrived at Mathaiga Country Club, where men can only wear leather shoes in the evening, and the only relaxed place is the pool!! All very nice though, and even has wifi which I'm told is very advanced for Kenya!! So we settled in to our cottage, where I'm sharing a room with Theo, and Josh is sharing with Seumus. Krissie and her mum are in a room in the main house. They arrived at about midday and we had a lovely lunch (I had chicken fajitas and a banana milkshake!!).
After lunch we got dressed and went "swimming" - the pool is FREEZING!!!!! But then we sunbathed and dried off after. Me and Kristina had a cocktail called a Dower which consists of vodka, lime, and honey - amazing!!
We went back to our cottage and got dressed for the evening. For us women, it's acceptable to wear anything that loom vaguely smart and covers legs, shoulders and chest. For men however it's entirely different!! Only shirts with a collar are allowed, long smart trousers, and no shoes apart from ones made of leather. So obviously we weren't allowed in the posh part haha!! We went to eat at the same place as lunch, where I had a delicious steak and chips!! After that, I was stuffed and so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open!! So shower and bed for me!!
