We left Queensland and headed to Wanaka to visit Puzzle Land! This is a place full of illusions including a maze (which we got totally lost in but found our way out in the end!), an illusion room full of heads which follow you, a room where everything is tilted and water travels upwards and a room based on the hobbit - one end small and the other big! After we headed in to Wanaka and had luch outside opposite the lake. We then travelled the rest of the day to Franz Josef so we could do a glacier walk! We arrived late and were told there was a games room and spa to keep us amused! After a few rounds of street fighter, pool, ice hockey and table football we went and relaxed in the spa jacuzzi! The next day it was glacier climb time; we got kitted up with several layers of clothing, crampons (ice spikes) for our boots, gloves, waterproofs and hats! We also got cool bum bags to store our personal stuff in. A quick run across the road and we were on another helicopter taking us to the glacier! Interesting fact the glacier moves 1.5m per day!!! We got our crampons on and our guide Sam took us exploring! Through crevices, in ice caves and up and down the glacier! It was tricky at first but we soon were professionals and moving like panthers! It was a fantastic few hours and something we will never forget! After we had lunch in town and watched the football! The land lord tried to trick Martin into it being live to make a bet with him - we then realised it was 2am in the UK and everton won after we checked on the free wifi!
