Headed off this morning to have one last look at Kenton and then set course for Saffron Walden via Cambridge. Had our usual fun at one roundabout but after a few round and rounds finally got the right exit and away on the motorways.
The day was pleasant enough but noted a few clouds on distant horizon.
We were pleased to leave the greater London area, it was too hectic for us. We also agreed that Qld has better house designs!
The endless rows of the semi detached homes with multitudes of cars parked on roads was not as interesting as the variations of those we find at home.
It was not a long drive to Cambridge, the scenery was lovely. Crops were ready to be harvested in some places, their grain heads bowed over and a dark golden colour.
Cambridge was leafy and green and reminded me a bit of the Adelaide hills.
There were young people everywhere, students I would think.
We drove through several streets, some of the houses (bungalows) were really lovely and quite grand. It had a nice feel about it and i said to Gordon, apart from the area where Audrey is, this would be a place that could interest me. However, I have no intention of moving to England!!
We had some lunch at Sainsbury's (2.30pm) and then called at Haverhill for a bit of a walk down the High street before getting to Bill and Audrey's at 5.45pm.
Bill had a lovely tea waiting for us and we recounted our adventures before heading to bed at 10pm. Can't get used to the twilight. Tomorrow is a rest day and some laundry time.
