Left Stansted yesterday after leaving Bill and Audrey's at 9.30 am, had to drop the car back at the airport. It was a great little car and very economical. The number plate was FRI GZZL so I called it frizzle.
Did the usual run of customs and immigration and finally left that after having to open one hand luggage case as I had forgotten that a half tube of toothpaste was in there to clean our teeth at KL. Ooops! should have been in a clear bag but no problem we got through without the toothpaste.
We had good seats on the plane, Row 2 ,A and C there was no one in B so we were able to spread out a bit and try and sleep but only succeeded in dozing. Got in to KL at about 1.30pm and went looking for the Plaza. Premium Lounge as Graham had suggested.
You pay for the use to stay in there for any time from 2 to 8 hours . That entitles you to use all the facilities they provide. Food and beverages, high speed internet access, shower with amenities, free local telephone calls, movies, massage chair, international papers.
It was lovely and cool and quiet in there in comparison to outside where it was hot, sultry and noisy.
An ideal place to wait for connecting flights.
Looking forward to Australia now and hearing Australian voices!
We had a great time and it has gone so quickly. We both agreed that we would not visit London next time, rather do a bit of touring up to Scotland and a few of the counties. That appealed to us more than the hustle and bustle of the city. I could not handle the crowds that will be there for the Olympics!
Mind you we enjoyed seeing what we did as I have not been to London. ( or England)
Gordon had as a child and delighted in telling me and showing me all about it.
Tricia and Ross want us to spend some time with them when we go again and Bill and Audrey said their place is always open to us so we have a couple of bases to start from. Cornwall was lovely and so much more to see there, and a good jump off point for Wales.
The papers were full of the marriage of Zara Phillips yesterday, Princess Anne's daughter. Not as big a story as William and Catherine though.
Well it is 4.45pm now, time for a coffee. No more blog now till we get home.
