We set off for Swakopmund on the atlantic coast and dune country. For most on the trip it meant staying in a bed and jumping out of a plane over the dunes. As we drove into town it become apparent that this place was more sofisticated than the african cities that we had seen up to now. In fact this place was more German than germany itself. Cafes, bakeries and german looking buildings were very strange to see especially when you could see sand dunes looming in the distance. Most people spoke german and liz did not wast any time to strike up a conversation in one of the local bars.
Empty Jagermister bottles where everwhere, when in Rome! The locals kept offering to buy us some drinks, it was so good to get away from the group and meet the natives. The next day was a bit of a mess - but it helped to kill the pain from coming off a quad bike on the sand dunes (very scarely but brilliant fun). Oh and I did jumpout of the plane as a tandem, I asked the tandem person to make it as scarely as poss - this meant almost doing loop the loops after the shoot was open!
