This is a very laid back capital of Malawi (spelled it wrong "Liwonde"). Last night we were invited to the high commissioners residence (British ambassador overseas home). Here we did the usual when visiting ambassadors had tea, played croquet and drank gin and tonic. When we were there the US Ambassador popped in to say hello. It was a very pleasant evening making use of swimming pool etc. It was really nice to get out of the tent.

Travelled a few days through the hinterland of Tanzania over some chilly mountains. Camped out in the bush for a couple of nights watching the lightening storms in the distance. Early mornings, bites and various other ailments are taking their toll on most of the travellers. Malawi with it's beaches warm faces and chilled vibe is the place to be. Been to visit a school and hospital in Malawi, they are very poor here - do not have soap for the doctors! Playing ...
