Wake up call at 4.30am as had to be at airport at 5.30am. Three hour flight on Turkish airlines, nice breakfast, got to watch a movie. Arrived at Milan at 10am then caught a bus to central station as it is 50kms to the town centre, walked to hotel very hot and sticky 35oC, must be the humidity in Italy that makes is more uncomfortable than Turkey. Very nice hotel (Fenice) clean with efficient air con, Mark had a snooze (how unusual) and I watched the Sept 11 memorial on TV. Then we went for a walk, our hotel is right on the main fashion shopping street a pity i'm not a shopper! It was Sunday anyway so most places were closed. We went to the park and had gelato, lots of people around, band playing, lots of kids and dogs. Walked to a recommended restaurant for pasta, swordfish and steak, after hanging around the local supermarket to cool off!! lol
