Boat arrived in Santorini around 7am, Santorini doesn't have a port so the boat was anchored some distance from the shore. Was great to see the island from a short distance the village is on top of a very high mountain and you could see all the white builiding and blue tops of the cathedrals, it is truly just like the pictures and postcard you see. Had breakfast and waited to get off the boat till mid morning after the masses had gone, as we needed a tender to get to shore, took about 15mins on small boat and was very rocky. We then got the cable car to the top and had a wander around up and down the small streets with the white building and colorful flower boxes, picture postcard beautiful. Went past a restaurant that had octopus tendrils drying on a line very gross which will be cooked later for customers. Spent a lot of time walking around trying to find the iconic cathedral with the blue top, without much luck, had to be satisfied with seeing it from a distance. We have learnt that most maps you are given are not accurate lol. Another hot sunny day a little wind to keep us cool 30oC. After a few hours of exploring, decided we would walk down the stinky donkey trail instead of taking the cable car. Very steep, I felt sorry the poor donkeys who have to lug tourists up and down the 600 steps to the village at the top in the scorching heat, wished I had bought some apples off the boat to feed them with . Got the tender back to the boat around 3ish, had a swim, dinner and saw the show the singer and dancers of the entertainment crew. Then we went to game called the quest as suggested by our Scottish friends on board, and Mark was the captain of the yellow team, had tasks to do to get points hilarous night and our team won of course as Mark is not scared to do anything to win, had everyone is hysterics, great fun!! By this time it is about midnight and we go up to the pool deck where there is a pool party going on with lots of singing and dancing, and a huge buffet as if they don't feed us enough already, fruit kebabs and chocolate fountain was all I could manage, beautiful ice carvings with lights in them and a chocolate carving of an eagle, needless to say a late was ahead.
