1st Feb 2007 Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
Well we had 3 glorious months at home in England. Visting some very dear friends and doting over the grandchildren... Christmas finished Dark Wet days of January got us too thinking of warmer sunnier climates so here we are....
First Impression of K.L. its very clean very large and has some wonderful people here....
1-4th February
Our real first day of adventure took us to the Pretonas Towers wher we claim our free viewing ticket.. But hey its not until 16:15 and it only 09:15 what should we do?? Then looming above the skyline we see Meanar K.L. Tower which is hardly visited anymore because a) you have to pay & b) the twin towers look so much more impressive,,, So we trudge across a very busy city following the flight of a crow to take us there... Well worth the effort. The tower is bulit on a little bit of National Park, from which you can hear monkeys calling Yep even in the city..!! Well the tower is the same as many other we visited last year apart from the viewing Gallery which was revolving as you walked around giving you 360 views over the city... We trample our way back the the Twin Towers.. This is a very impressive structure from the viweing bridge which scans across the towers on the 41st floor allowing 180c view of the city. Batu Caves .. Today we take a taxi out to see the local hindu shrine of Batu Caves dicovered only120years ago .. As we approach you can see the after effecct of the mssive festival held here on the 1st Feb Hindu's celebrating Festival.. There was rubbish side shows still trying to earn that last penny!! We climb the 272 steps in bear feet treading amongst the left overs inside the cave there were still many worshippers around the shrines were almost dwarfed by the size of the cave.. There were monkey's scaling the sheer cliff walls We didnt over stay our welcome as these guys were taking it all very serious leaving gifts for their gods, and enjoying prayer time together... 4th Feb After yesterday amazing insight to the festival we decide to head off on the monorail to Tittiwangsa to enjoy the great open space away form the city.. We had a great day experiencing Paint ball matches all well organised with referee's. of course I had to have ago.. Then it was onto the Malaysia Eye which only opened on the 1st January this year to celebrate Malaysia 50yrs of independance K/L now in the bag next stop Metaka (Mettacca) Its GREAT to be BACK!!!!!
