Final blog for our final day of travelling!!
First thing we went over to the tourist area. We got a taxi to the pier, and after realising we were about to be conned, we made our way to the real pier and got a very cheap boat up the river to the Grand Palace. As soon as we got off the boat we were being hassled about going into the palace and we decided to leave it and head back to it later. After mooching around at other areas and taking pics we decided to walk up to the backpacker area. We wandered through one of the red shirt areas and then couldn't go much further as they had blocked off the road. We were pretty fed up by this point as we had been stopped by so many Thais who wanted to 'help' us but were only trying to get us to go in a tuk tuk or elsewhere. They all seem to be after your money here and as friendly as they seem, we weren't prepared to go along with it! We were going to go back to the palace but decided that we wouldn't because you had to pay so much, compared with the ones that we have visited elsewhere when it has been free. We decided to head back to our area where noone tries to con you! We got the taxi boat back up the river and then jumped on the sky train and popped into the MGM again for a mooch. After purchasing a few items we then went back to the hotel to check out. It was a bit of a rush but we made it down in time. Mark went to the driving range on the 18th floor of the hotel while I caught up on the blog! In a mo we are going for a Thai massage before we get a taxi to the airport to go home!!! Exciting!!

So, after 7months away, 3 continents and 11 countries later, its time to head home! We have been counting down to this day for a long time now, not that we want to go home, but because of the excitement of seeing everyone again! We have seen, done and learnt so much in such a short time and we have had some unforgettable moments and experiences. It's official though, we have got the travelling bug and I'm sure it wont be long until we're planning somewhere else, we already have a few ideas!
So...its time for our Thai massage and then to the airport to head home to reality!
