Breakfast was included with our room so we made our way up to the 78th floor for the most amazing buffet! There was so much to choose from that we didn't know where to start! The tables were around the edges for views across the city so a good way to start the day! My only criticism was the fried dorey fish! Hmmm!
Once we had finally got sorted we got a taxi to Chatuchak weekend market which is one of the biggest markets in the world, apparently! We walked around the edges to start with and it didn't seem to bad, very hot but not that busy. But then we decided to head inside amongst all the stalls. It was cooler from the heat but still very humid and busy in patches! There was just about everything on sale and we mooched about until we had sweated too much and bought a few bits!
We then got the sky train back to the hotel. Considering this train is very efficient, we couldn't work out why it hasn't been extended to cover more of the city. The public transport is pretty poor here as it doesn't cover the main touristy areas! Before heading into the hotel we went to get some grub at the indoor market area opposite. While wandering through we bumped into a couple who we were trekking with in Chiang Mai! They had checked into a hotel close by for the day while killing time for their flight on the night, the same flight that we will be getting on Tuesday! It was nice to see them again and to see what they had been up to on the 3rd day of the trek.
After eating we went back and got our swimping stuff and went down to the 20th floor where there is an outdoor pool with sun loungers overlooking the city! The air was so much fresher compared with street level so it made a nice change! After swimping and chillaxing for a bit we got ready and jumped in a taxi to head to a bar to watch football and for some food. The taxi driver advised us against going to the area that we had chosen because of the red shirts were around there. Instead we went to Sukhumvit which was crazy busy and we found a bar which was run by some lovely Thais. They were more into the football than what Mark was! After spending much money on food, drink and internet we called it a night!
