We arrived in Koh Tao after a lot of travelling having flown back from Chiang Mai to Bangkok we got a bus from Bangkok to Chumpon and from Chumpon we got a boat to the tiny island of Koh Tao. The bus and bus alone took us 15 hours! We were knackered by the time we got there! Koh Tao is a beautiful small island near Koh Phangnan and Koh Samui off the Eastern side of Thailand. We spent 5 days here and Mark learnt to scuba dive and I went snorkelling. The coral life and tropical fish here were amazing. So colourful and indescribable really! This island is designed for divers and the main town is very small only a few roads and you can walk around in about 15 minutes! We stayed in a bungalow near the beach. On my snorkelling trip we stopped at a nearby island which was even smaller. The beach had pure white sand and the water was clear. The beaches were really thin and had the sea on both sides! You have to see it to believe it! I think it is only one of a few places in the world with a beach like this. I was only on that island for 2 hours which wasnt enough! But it was enought to get burnt! We left Koh Tao by boat and headed to nearby Koh Samui.
