Friday's in this region seem to be spent brunching, otherwise known as heading to one of the nicer hotels and having a posh buffet and a drink or two. After a relaxed morning we got ourselves ready and ordered a couple of taxis to take us to the Fairmont hotel for our first sample of the brunch experience.
Things started well with a pimms at the door which set the tone for the day, Jen and Neil had invited some of their friends so there were 11 of us in total. There was a massive selection of food to choose from and there was a never ending supply of wine, beer and mojitos brought to the table.
We tried as much of the food as we could manage, but still never got nowhere near through the whole lot. Some of our pickings were BBQ seafood, sushi, Chinese, roast beef, pizza, soup, oysters, crab legs, cheese, dessert, and haribo sweets! After 4 hours they cut off the drink so it was time to move on to a bar in the Shangri La hotel called Pearls and Caviar where. The rest of the evening was spent drinking and dancing until it was time to roll home, some folk earlier than others!
