After our last breakfast on the balcony in Taupo we started the 4 hour drive up to Auckland. Not a lot to report about the drive, few areas of roadworks, some nice little towns and green scenery all around. We dumped our hire car at the airport and took the bus into town where we got checked in to our hotel for the night.

As we'd been to Auckland before and didn't have much time we decided to just have a general wonder around, which then turned into having some beers! The cheapest in the whole of NZ in fact. As we were rapidly running out of NZ dollars we headed to Wendy's for dinner before calling it a night.

In the morning we had a jog around Albert park before having a great breakfast in Denny's- always a treat! We spent the morning walking around the CBD including the upmarket shopping district in Britomart. We thought we'd spend our last money and time on the slot machines at the big casino and headed over. Well 15 bucks became 135!

It was time to head to the airport and check in for our flight to Brisbane, this time we were giving Emirates First Class a go. Well what a treat it was! The flight was only 3 hours but still enough time for plenty of Dom, a 4 course meal and a visit to the onboard bar! We rolled off the plane and straight to bed at our Brisbane hotel!
