We left Koh Phagnan last Monday to head back to Ko Samui. The transfer from the hotel to the ferry terminal was a bit mental when we were put into the back of a pickup truck and the driver proceeded to drive at about 60mph along the dodgy roads. Feeling lucky to have survived the road trip, we caught the ferry which took around half an hour and reached our new hotel in the same resort we had previously stayed in Ko Samui.
We loved the hotel we were in as it had a pool and the rooms were really nice. We also had a great balcony which overlooked the pool which we retreated to when it either for too hot or too cloudy. The weather wasn't too great all week and it tended to be sunny in the mornings before clouding over and raining in some of the afternoons. We were staying in a different part of Lamai beach so we were able to try some new restaurants and one of these trips had an interesting effect on Beth. We are at the restaurant next door to the hotel twice and on the second occasion Beth came out worse for wear after eating part of a dodgy pumpkin we think. After puking up dodgy pumpkin back in the room she was fine the next day. I felt very sorry for the maintenance man in the hotel who had to unblock the trap on the sink after Beth had blocked it with the aforementioned pumpkin. The smell was interesting!!!
We hadnt been particularly looking forward to the journey across Thailand to Krabi which we have done today. It actually turned out to be okay after hopping on the ferry back to the mainland and a 3 hour bus journey which we took to get to Krabi. We've now got a night here before we go to Koh Lanta tomorrow morning for 10 nights.
