We left Krabi on Tuesday morning for 10 nights back in Koh Lanta which had been our first stop in Thailand back at the end of February. When we left Krabi in a minivan the weather was awful and it took around 3 hours to get to Koh Lanta.
We booked a bungalow which was about 100m from the beach which we had enjoyed so much last time we were here. However, it is now the low season here and as we quickly discovered, the beach was pretty much unusable. The sea was really choppy and the tide really high which meant going in the sea was pretty difficult. Luckily, we had booked into a hotel with a swimming pool so we've been able to enjoy that for the last ten days.
The weather while we've been here has been a bit hit and miss but we feel we've been pretty lucky. The majority of days have been sunny although I'm sitting here on Friday the 25th and its lashing down outside with thunder rumbling.
Most of the bars and restaurants have been shut due it being low season so we haven't been that impressed with the choice of food available. We did have some great food last night though and we only wish we had of found this place on our first night.
Overall, we've had another good time on Koh Lanta. We've really enjoyed spending time around the pool and walking along the beach. It probably hasn't been as nice as last time as the beach when we were here in February was one of our favourite on the whole trip. We would definitely recommend coming here in the high season but in low season it is pretty quiet and the weather is very hit and miss. We now go back to Krabi this afternoon before we fly to Singapore tomorrow. We've now only got four more nights left in our trip before we head back to the UK!!
