Our final day in Cusco, was one spent relaxing and sorting ahead of our journey to Lima. As you can imagine, there was some laundry to be done after four days on the Inca Trail so we paid for that to be done, grabbed some lunch and headed back to the hostel to upload photos and speak to family and friends. Much to our absolute delight, the start for the final trek to Machu Picchu was 3.30am!!! So Tuesday was the second day of the Inca Trail and this is the hardest day with the Dead Women's Pass being reached at around 4,200 m above sea level. We started the Inca Trail on Sunday 10th November and it was an early start with us up at 5am for a 5.50am pickup. We jumped on the bus full of anticipation and met the rest of our tour group which totalled 10 of us. After about an hour and a half on the bus, we stopped in a small village for some breakfast and for a chance to pick up anything we might need for the four days ahead.
