Our last day in Cesky Kumlov was a beauty It started with a history walk around town with a local guide. The town dates back to 800 and many buildings were established in the 1200 but most of what we can see today is from the 1500's The history walk was followed by a tour of the local brewery . An historic factory in itself. The tour included tasting a litre of their beers each which went down well and set Lyndon up well for the afternoon's rafting experience. Here we were taken several kilometres up stream and let loose in a couple of rubber dinghies You really did not have to paddle as the current took you along One of our party had the forethought to bring more beers . So gliding down the river was a great way to spend the afternoon, except negotiating the 4 rapids These were actually weirs with a channel on the side that you had to get through . There was a fall of 1-2 metres and this caused some excitement and splashing. A pleasant meal in a catacombs restaurant finished the day.
This morning we took a very comfortable public bus to Prague. Had a great orientation walk around this beautiful city - not touched by the war. Heard how cold it is in Adelaide. We have to make sure we remember our suntan cream every morning
apparently when readers log and make comments they cannot see them but we certainly do and love getting them I have had challenges to best place i have eaten .Now corrected to one of the best but still think it might beat most challenges

Anita and John Howdy, glad you can see our blogs! Prague ooooh the memories, it is a beautiful place isn't it? Did you walk up the steps to the 'Prague Castle' ? We went over the bridge and ate at a lovely restuarant down on the river on the right hand side, great meal and we sat and enjoyed some 'downtime' over a couple of glasses of wine. I can viualise Lyndon 'bobbing ' down that stream with a litre of beer in his belly .... bit like a keg really !? Sounds terrific. Thick fog here this morning couldn't even see the bowling green ! Bloody cold no thought of sunscreen here, enjoy the warmth! Love Anita and John xx
