Great trains here Hurtling through the countryside at 300 kph is not a bad way to go Now out at a newly opened hotel about a 5 min train ride out of Amsterdam great romm and the hotel kitchen where we can prepare our breakfast and evening meal wsahed down with the odd beer and some red wine
On Wed tackled the roads and cyclists to hire a car a drive to Delft. This a little town hundreds and hundreds of years old and famous for its pottery
A canal trip and a walking tour here completed our day. We returned the car without mishap so this was a trial for later when we have a car for a fortnight
Thurs we took a canal tour of Amsterdam which gave us a perspective on the city In the afternoon we took the easy way and took a bus tour to Marken and Volendam. Fascinating little towns where the housing is quite unique We also called into a windmill town where the traditional windmills still dominate the skyline
We finished off Amsterdam with a bike tour Lyndon Nearly fell off his bike going through the red light district Having been terrorized by cyclists it was good to get a bit of our own back
Off to Berlin
