The weather was still looking a bit dodgy so rather than taking a day trip we thought we would wander past the old MMAF down to Marble Mountain to grab a few tourist trinkets. In a straight line Marble Mountain is probably about 6k from the Pullman resort. Umbrella in hand off we went. Instead of just walking straight down Vu Nguyen Giap Blvd we walked around the outside of the old supposedly abandoned MMAF. At the first gate we realised it wasn't abandoned as it had two Vietnamese Sailors on guard. Lucky I didn't jump the fence to get a better look. It was a great walk around it anyway. We started looking at the larger marble stores along Vu Nguyen Giap blvd. If we purchased from the first store we went into we would have paid at least double for some jade and marble stuff. It pays to shop around, We are happy with what we ended up purchasing. Ended up having lunch at Marble Mountain which was really enjoyable. We walked straight back to the resort and ended up walking 15k total. Time for happy hour and a few beers. The weather from the edge of the Manila Typhoon really struck and it bucketed down overnight. Day 8. Heading to Hoi An again for final fitting of boots. Another good friend from Canberra was in Hoi An so we caught up for a coffee. Jose introduced me to egg coffee apparently a specialty of Hoi An (raw egg, coffee, cream and chocolate sprinkles). Funny how 3 blokes from Canberra end up crossing paths in Hoi An. We picked up some North Face rain jackets a for reasonable price (it is raining again)!!! . Another quiet night, few drinks on the beach then dinner. Blowing a gale and quite cold tonight
