Went for a stroll along the beach first thing in the morning. Black clouds rolling in over Monkey Mountain, doesn't look good. The plan for the day was to head to Hoi An for our clothes fittings and to try on my boots. By the time we boarded the bus it was ******* down. Get off in Hoi An and don the cheap plastic ponchos. Worse part of these ponchos is they don't breath. You may be protected from rain but soaking from sweat. Called in to check out the progress of my boots. The boots were finished but did not quite fit. They are adjusting and I will pick up on Monday. They had finished my belt and wallet, both came out great. Called into the tailors, only minor adjustments to be made but will be ready by the time we depart back to Da Nang at 3pm. A good friend of mine from the Army days and around Canberra was also in Hoi An. We decided to catch up and have a few cheap Saigon beers together before heading off again. Jeff and his family are travelling from Hanoi down to Ho Chi Minh City and also loving the experience. It's kinda funny after knowing each other for over 30 years then both randomly book holidays and end up in the same spot for one day. I broke my cheap Walmart glasses ($4.95) so decided to grab some new ones. I have my last eye check here. $50 US for new frames and lenses and they were ready in two hours. The rain is still bucketing down so collected our clothes and headed back to Da Nang and the resort. Had dinner at the beachfront bar and another quiet night.
