Woke up after a surprisingly quiet sleep considering right near the runway at Heathrow. Flight wasn't until 13.30, should have caught the train to London but instead just laid around until we could check in a head up to the British Airways Business lounge. Passed the time watching the crowds go through the security checks below where we were sitting (see photos). The flight was uneventful and picked up the hire car from Dublin airport. Now I miss the adaptive cruise control (or any cruise control), reversing cameras or sensors, climate control or auto. Quite difficult to get automatic hire cars in Ireland. The car is a very basic Opel Astra, does the job though. There has been a new motorway put in between Dublin and Wexford (bits of it anyway). The speed limit on the motorway is 120kph (please take note Australia ), I was doing 120 and I was passed like I was standing still. Arrived at Karen's parents place about 6pm. Her brothers, their partners, children all turned up. Was great to catch up with them all . More to come. Checked into the hotel at 9.30pm for a good nights sleep
