Had a good nights sleep after the big day at the volcanoes. Had a breakfast at IHOP which is about the same as Denny's, picked up the hire car then off to Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetery Pacific for the service. On arriving at the seating I was surprised to see several chooks in uniform. Spoke to one of the SGTs and he was telling me they are posted here (techs). What a hardship posting (NOT), he reckons he is loving it. It was a great ceremony apparently been happening here every year for 40 years. The Marines did an outstanding job with the setup and the honour guard. There was some serious US Brass at the service, CINCPAC, Chief of US AIr Force PAC, COMD 25 Inf Div, Lt Gov of Hawaii and the list goes on, The Int Corps Lt Col did very good job with the service. Service over and off to the Factory Outlets for Karen's retail therapy. I actually got some great bargains, Adidas techfit compression pants for $20 each, adidas running shirts 7.79 ea. ASICS GT2160 $70. Got a few shorts, shoes and shirts, good shopping day. Payed a visit to Costco then off to Walmart. Just a reminder for any one visiting the US don't buy Duty Free alcohol. I will post some of the photos of prices but, Moët and Chandon $31, 1.75l of lindemans or yellowtail Shiraz $10, a six pack of beer $7 - $10. No wonder you can be an alcoholic easy here. Drove back to the hotel and sitting in the car while Karen took the bags up to the room prior to dropping the hire car off, watching some young people (with hoodies) just hanging around the entry of international markets and watched a drug deal take place, actually more than one, either that or they were very popular and everyone wanted to give them money. Karen said she witnessed a young tacker on a push bike do the same the day before. Dropped the car off and walked back to the hotel to partake in some Moet and Chabdon for my birthday. We them decided to try the Irish pubs, moosemcgillycuddys and Kelly Oneils. Neither was any good. Dinner was at Cheesecake Factory which is nice but exactly the same as Vegas. Heading back to the hotel we finally saw Kuhlio St ( the street our Hotel is on) late at night, 10 prostitutes within cooie of the hotel and probably a dozen or so characters that look like they come out of scene in Breaking Bad hanging around doing nothing except for funny sliding handshakes. Oh well everyone to their own. Off to bed now
