Full day, boarded bus at about 0630 stuck in traffic jam then quick tour of Downtown Honolulu then off to USS Missouri. Very impressive sized ship. Had a good look around and enjoyed listening to the stories, shame the weather is **** again today ( light rain and strong winds). Finished Missouri then back to the Valor of the Pacific Centre for a tour of the Museum then boat ride to Arizona Memorial. They have the Conning Tower of the WW2 sub USS Apache which was decommissioned in the 60's. It's bloody tiny. The Arizona Memorial is very impressive and quite moving. The ship is still leaking oil after 70 years and they reckon it could continue for another 50 or so years. It is about a litre s day and comes up in blobs of oil. They call them black tears of Arizona. Then headed to Punchbowl Cemetery. It is the Arlington of Hawaii. It is located above Honolulu in an old Volcano. This is where the ANZAC Day ceremony will be. Back into the hotel now and shattered. 3.30am start tomorrow for the big Island, volcanos and lava.
