Hello Hello!

This is the part of my journey that took me to the bottom of New Zealand. The true part of the country before the tourists took over. I have to say i really enjoyed this part of my travels. It was great to see what New Zealand is really all about. To start with the bottom bus took us to a place called Dunedin. This is supposed to be the student capital of NZ but it was the holidays and we didn't see many students. When we arrived we had a quick tour of the city including Baldwin street. This is the steepest street in the world. Of course i had to climb it to the very top. After checking into the hostel i made friends with the other members of the group and went to explore. It was a little dissapointing as it was sunday and there was not that much open. Allthough we did get to go on a tour arounf the cadbury's factory.The ghost tour we were hoping to go on was not running. Instead myself and two other grils settled for a meal put and a short stop at the casino. The floowing morning we were off early to the next destination. This was my favourite part. Possibly of the whole country. It was amazing. The driver took us to lots of scenic spots along the cost. We followed the sea all the way. One of the walks enabled us to see dolphins playing in the sea and seals on the rocks. it was the furthest south west point marked by the lighthouse. The next stop took us along the beach to see the sea lions. We were told to give them a 10m distance as they can be aggressive. i am sure they were not keen on us being there. I felt like we got really close to them. The final stop of the day took us to an area where the trees had been fossilised over hundreds of years. the sea crashed against them as rocks. it was fasinating. we were even lucky enough to see yellow headed penguins come in from the sea and climb on the rocks. they go out in the morning for a days fishing and come in just before the sun goes in. It was a great experiance. That evening we arrived at our hostel at Invercargill. That evening we spent relaxing and socialising with the group. The next day we started the journey to Te Anau. On the way we stopped at a working farm where we got to look round and actually have a go at sheering a sheep. It was so much fun. I especially was taken with the litter of puppies running around. That evening was again spent socialising with the group and getting to know people. In the morning we changed bus to go to Milford Sound. This is a beautiful area of mountins surrounding a lake. we got to sail along the sound and see the amazing waterfalls. It was really stunning. That evening the bus arrived back at Queenstown marking the end of that bus.
