Well we got up late...had breakfast....Lynda took laundry to laundrymat... Then we walked down to Bowness and took the cruise ship on Windemere Lake to Ambleside... When we got there we walked the river walk to the town....the path initially was paved but then turned into a track across farmers fields....there were gates of all sorts along the way to keep the animals in... It is very hot and as we went thru farmers fields they did not think of putting park benches out for us!! How bad is that! We toured Ambleside which has no stores other than 500 outdoor clothing shops! But very beautiful buildings. We had lunch in a lane where Fred's store was, then ambled back down the main road to the river and took the cruise back to Windemere. Lynda went to collect laundry and a pork pie for Fred...dinner in room tonight...sick of eating out!
