Lynda and Fred Travels
Well we started the trip with a road to memory lane. We went to see the house Fred was born in and the park across the road that led to the river. Then we went to see the house he grew up as a teenager when his dad was at war and his mom bought and managed a corner shop. Fred was the oldest of 6 so he acted as dad during these years. He showed me where his friends lived and where he played ball as a kid. We then went to his first home he bought himself with his wife....after that he left Preston and was a wanderer! Then we took the coast road to windemere through Lancaster. We stopped at all the little towns on Morecome Bay...tide was out and went out for a mile! Had a nice lunch stop in a quaint little pub....ate on balcony which said you are here at your own risk! Lynda is overwhelmed by stone fences, stone houses, and just the streets and buildings....Canada and Australia have nothing like it! So old!!! We arrived at our hotel and just loved it...very cute! We thought it was a hotel as they called it, but really a guest house as is most accommodation over here.....nothing like a big American hotel....any hotels that are somewhat like a real hotel are a bunch of buildings put together with creaky and uneven floors! I took a walk around the shops while Fred had a nap...checked out laundry facilities, etc. We then had a wine and beer in our room before going out to a steak dinner in town which was very nice....

Annette Glad to see your both enjoying a British beer, is it better than an Australian beer? Stay safe and well - Love from the Wormalds
Majella Irene put me in touch with your blog - thoroughly enjoying reading your travel diary. You've had some ups & some downs - but that's the beauty of travel - fabulous adventures.
