Today I was sitting in lounge listening to our cruise director and I noticed a mail from Janet saying kurt was in hospital. I called Elaine and found out that he had a burst stomach, was operated on and his heart gave way on him! It was the saddest day I have had! I managed to get through the day, but just! I skipped lunch but did the tour of Rudesheim. We had a little train take us around the narrow streets...one street was 144 metres.....we went into music museum which was fascinating...very old instruments which they found in ruins and recrafted them. Fred and I found an Irish pub right on the river that had one family owner since 1800. We met up with jan and had a rudesheimer kaffee which was a brandy and coffee which they set fire to. Bought a map of the river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest. I really was not into the day....very sad. Had dinner and retired early.
