LINDA'S TALES OF TRAVEL AND OTHER CATASTROPHES
Next stop was Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland. Switzerland was such a bizarre place. It was like going to another world, not just another country! One of the first things we got told was that we could leave our beers in the stream at the campsite because the Swiss don't steal stuff. It all seemed a little too perfect to me...a little too quite and peaceful...it just wasn't right!
Seriously though, Lauterbrunnen was so beautiful. Our campsite was surrounding by mountains and the air was so fresh. I even managed to have a day playing in the snow at the so called 'top of europe': Jung Frau Joch Mountain. (Actually it isn't the highest point in Europe, but it's the highest you can get by train.) Other than being amazed that I was running around in the snow in the middle of summer, I was also very impressed by the ice palace they had created up there. Sun, snow, beer cooling in the stream...what more could you want? Well, some hot swiss guys I suppose, but I think we scared the locals away ;)
