Got a taxi from our huts on the beach to the pier in some seriously heavy rain, even the locals were jumping and looking scared about the thunder. There was a hole above my head in the taxi so I pretty much had a waterfall on my head the whole way. We dried out by the time we got on the ferry though. Rich looked really pale on the ferry and ended up spewing four times, it was that sick when theres nothing left to give as well so he was really giving it some and getting nothing out, lol. We arived on Koh Tao and got a taxi to a resort called the 'Big Fish Resort' in Chalokok Bay, where we found a 5 bed room with a fridge and toilet paper

That night we wandered to Mae Haad and found a bar called Stop Start where we watched the first half of the Liverpool and Arsenal games and had some food. I had a green curry, and the girls had fish and chips which looked really nice. Went to a bar called Dirty Nellys to see the other half and played some pool.

19/10/08

Took a wander to a nearby bay, but it started to rain so we took shelter in a bar where Pat proceded to whip me a chess. I thought I'd give up at chess so played Coops at connect 4, absolutely spanked her even when she introduced her messed up rules. Later we wandered down to Sairee Beach and just walked up and down checking out stalls and shops. Had some drinks in a bar owned by an Italian guy, its great the amount of bars around here that offer free pool tables. Then found an Aussie bar called Choppers Bar and Grill, and decided to eat there, had an epic meal, each had a half roast chicken each with stuffing veg and potato wedges. Once we'd finished eating a one man band showed up and started to do requests, he was doing everything from Tenacious D to Van Morrison, and got the entire pub dancing on tables and chairs towards the end with his irish folk songs. What a legend! Had a debate about whether to do the hour walk back afterwards or get a taxi. By the time we'd been offered about 5 taxis and haggled it down we realised we were trying haggle over like a 50p taxi ride so we decided to take it.

Chilled out all morning on the beach. Had breakfast at midda, asked the woman what came in the breakfast burger, she told me 'egg, chicken, burger and salad and is served with french fries' when I said are you sure it comes with egg a chicken steak and a beef burger in she said 'Yes' so us three lads all ordered one. When we got it it was just a chicken burger with salad. Hired out kayaks in the afternoon and paddled out to shark island. I never want to be in a kayak with Rich again, what a lazy ****, he literally makes you do all the work, and cant seem to steer to save his life, he was zig zagging across the entire bay making the journey about 5 times longer. Good fun anyway. Shark Island isn't really that much though, when we got there we reaslised it was just a rock sticking out of the water that you can kayak round in about 2 minutes. When I went for a swim there weren't any sharks to be seen, I think they need to reconsider the name of that island.

In the evening we went the the 'Golden Restaurant' which is an all you can eat buffet, arranged like one of those things tefal do. For 99 Baht you get a couple of bbq grills in the middle of the table and another with a top on to make soup. So you get whatever meat you want slap in on the bbq or on top of the soup dish and wait for it to cook then stuff your face. The soup was really tasty, gonna have to do something like that again soon. Ended up spilling a bowl of soup on my leg at the end tho, disaster.

We left the Big Fish Resort, Burns had a bottle of water in his hand which he opened, as he drank it I jumped in a 'squozed' the bottle so it dribbled down his front, he shouted 'don't do that' and chucked some back at me. As we got further down the road I decided to creep up on him and pour some of my 1.5l bottle down his back, he then emptied his small bottle all over my front, so I flung loads of mine over him but he grabbed the bottle and pretty much emptied it all over me. All in all, a waste of drinking water. Walked down to near Mae Haad again and played crazy golf on a much better course. Was really good, the girls lose concentration far too quickly though, after the 9th hole they were just kicking their balls in the holes rather than playing each shot as if it were hockey, cheating scum bags. Later we went to a chilled out bar whith a swimming pool and sat around reading all afternoon. Turned out the bar was closed though, but the woman didn't mind us using her pool as long as we left it as we found it, I love the Thai's attitude, so relaxed.

We got some big bottles of Chang in and put them in our fridge, played cards and drank until we decided to go out to eat. Me and Helen had a massaman curry but they swapped the potato for pinapple, as if we wouldn't notice, it was good anyway. Then we went to a bar and me and rich got rounds of cocktails in because we got a hole in one in the crazy golf. Blue Lagoons go down like water, we were drinking with the 5's and 7's game again, I think we actually made it above 50 at one point.

Woke up early to get the Catamaran at 9am. The taxi picked us up at 8:15 during a storm again. This one was even worse than the last time we were traveling. The taxi was open top as well and the rain was so hard it felt like you were being shot constantly all over with a bb gun, very painful when it gets in the eye. Got a taxi from the pier at Samui to Chaweng beach and found a resort called Silver Sands, cheapest we could find, 200 baht each per night. It was a hell of a walk from where we got dropped off so by the time we got there Rich had his classic sweaty back syndrome again. Spent the afternoon wandering up and down the main street. Ate in another Irsih pub, got chicken fried rice and it came served inside a pinapple, the second best meal I've had since I've been here, second to the first Massaman. Got hassled by hundred of people trying to sell me suits again just like in Bangkok and saw about a million shorts shops. Couldn't resist buying some Metallica shorts. Wen't into 'Lukes Black Jack Bar' and played some pool.

Went into supermarked and picked up some cheap rum which we drank in the room before going out for dinner. Ate at the cheapest place, has to be the worst meal I've had in the country so far, don't know what the beans were in it but I couldn't eat them. Laid on the beach and had some more Changs during the night while playing cards. Some fat kid stitched me up with the hand shake trick.

Woke up on the floor, three guys in a bed with bed bugs doesn't work! Especially when you're sleeping next to a gashed toe. Got up at like 6:30 and went for a run, chilled out on the beach all morning.
