Hi all! What a day.....kinda glad its over! Getting through customs at the airport can be a real pain in the behind! But i guess its all just part of this big adventure we're on! When we arrived in LA, we never could have anticipated the absolute chaos we were about to encounter when we departed the airport! Our first mission was to find a way to get to our hostel! After quite a while we managed to find a shuttle bus! thank god!! I swear in the first ten minutes in LA i heard more car horns then i've heard in my whole life!! Its crazy here!!!! The streets of LA are quite dirty looking...very busy!! But where we are staying, in Santa Monica, is very nice!! Our hostel is just one block from a shopping mall and Santa Monica Beach. The first thing we did after checking in was head down to the beach for some sunbaking! The beach is massive.....amusement park and all!! People everywhere! The water wasn't that nice, so Mel and I just stuck to the massive amount of sand to sunbake on!! As there was quite a drama down the road from our hostel..a broken something or other under the ground which lead to an explosion....Mel and I were a little weary!! Only in America...huh!! We had dinner at 'Bubba Gump's Restaurant...like off of Forrest Gump the movie! It was the best shrimp we've ever tasted!! YUM YUM!! There was fried shrimp, chilli shrimp, shrimp popcorn, shrimp on skewers...hehehe!! Tomorrow we head off on a tour of Hollywood, Beverley Hills, Rodeo Drive, the Walk of Fame...etc etc....should be a fantastic day!! Anyways, had best be off to bed!
