Hi all! Mel and I are waiting at our hostel in Las Vegas for the Green Tortoise Tour company to arrive and pack us all on the bus for a 9 day trip to see the Canyons of the West!! From what we hear, it is going to be pretty 'rough'....kinda like the wilderness hostels we think!?? Apparently we sleep on the bus every night (it has fold out beds or something?) and we shower in springs or sometimes at rest stops along the way! Will be an adventure no matter what i'd say!! Not sure if i'll have internet access along the way though...we'll see!! Las Vegas is so amazing....this huge mass of casino's and lights, smack bang in the middle of a desert!! I was just saying to Mel yesterday that we have gone from pine trees in Canada, to palm trees in California....to Cactus in Nevada! CRAZY!! I am really looking forward to coming back after the tour to stay in a flash hotel on 'The Strip' for 4 nights and see a few of the amazing shows!! Will be fantastic i'm sure!! Yesterday was not so good of a day....pretty much spent the day on the bus....or waiting for the bus! Had a changover in San...(something or other, can't remember the name...hehehe!) and we didn't get onto the next bus as they ran out of seats! Had to wait in this little bus terminal for 2 hours for the next one...NOT HAPPY JAN!!!! We've decided that we are going to stick to trains or planes from now on!!! Lost my cowboy hat too on the way to the bus terminal in San Diego at 5.30am in the morning....so distraught!! Mel keeps teasing me...saying..."My hat is so nice"....I'm going to have to destroy hers....hehehehehe!!
