Hi all! Well Mel and I are in the "Big Apple"...New York City! It's great here, we are really enjoying it! Been soaking in the sights of the 'big smoke'...and of course....SHOPPING!!!!! Our hostel called 'Jazz on the Park' is right across from Central Park! Had breakfast there this morning! We're a bit scared to venture to far into it though as we would most likely wind up getting lost!!!! So far we have seen 2 shows on Broadway - "Tarzan" the musical and "Beauty and the Beast". They were both absolutely outstanding! We didn't really know what to expect with Tarzan, but it was an amazing show full of fantastic acting, singing and apes swinging in from all areas of the auditorium!! Was very surprising - a great show! I was very excited to see 'Beauty & the Beast' done on Broadway as I'd been in and helped choreographed our version of it!! The storyline, songs and scenes were all the same.....but of course the production as a whole, was absolutely breathtaking! Was so great from my prospective, knowing exactly what happens, to see it done on such a grander scale! But let me tell you all, Charters Towers did a bloody good job!!!!! If we had the $$$ that these Broadway company's have, our show would be of such a grand scale too!!!! Our talented performers are as good a quality as the ones here!!!! Tomorrow night we are going to see "Chicago" on Broadway! And get this.....Usher is starring in it!!!! WOWEE!!!! Can't wait! Yesterday we got up and went to the site of the World Trade Centers for the 5th anniversary of 9/11. We didn't stay for long though as it was very sad. After that we went on a ferry to Staten Island to see the Statue of Liberty! And then we hit China Town for some serious (cheap) shopping!!! Lots of brand names at ridiculously low prices....I LOVE IT!!!!! We are going to try and find the cafe from the show 'Friends'....Central Perk! Would be really cool to sit and have a coffee there!!!!
