Theme park day!!!! Woke up just in time for breakfast which we got for free with the hostel so I definitely wasn't missing that. We then made a quick move to get to the theme park for a full day of fun J. We were going to walk there but it turned out to be too far so we got a taxi in the end. The taxi driver was getting excited about the themepark as well even though he wasn't even going! He kept shout VinPearl!!
To get to the island the park is on you have to get cable cars over the sea. They are apparently the longest in the world and you can see the whole city from them. When we got off at the other end the first ride we went on was the scariest of my life! It wasn't that it was a fast and furious ride, I just thought I was going to die. It was on that is a circle and spins you around and up and around over the top. But when it stopped us at the top we could have easily slipped straight out of the top of the straps. I had to curl my legs around the bar to keep myself in!
It was such a relief to be on the ground after that and the rest of the rides were no where near as bad. There were only three others though; a pirate ship, swings and a roller coaster which was shut down for maintenance. So we went into the indoor amusement arcade that was all free to use and went on the dodgems and in a 4d cinema which wasn't all that great.
Sorol, who had drank a fair bit the night before, had been feeling a bit ill since the pirate ship and after being on a few other things and then getting on to the swings she finally threw up. Obviously all the Asians there thought that the swings had just been way too much for her.
We then head down towards the water park but on the way went into the aquarium where we spent most of our time watching some crab looking things having sex. Well that's what we think they were doing and it was somehow extremely interesting! There was a good tunnel with huge sting rays in it but it was pretty much the same as every other aquarium.
When we got to the water park we bumped into Bryce from Saigon. They had just been in the waterpark and said it was really good! The first slide we went on was called Tsunami and you went in a hoop down a really steep slope and up the other side and back and forth until you came out the bottom. Cant explain it very well on here but it was really good.
There were all the normal rides of a waterpark and it turned out to be loads better than the themepark. We spent a while on the biggest lazy river I have ever seen that went around the whole park and then went on a family ride which was the scariest of the lot! We were in a huge ring and if you didn't hold on tight you would easily fall out; thankfully we had been warned before!!
Carm and I walked back to the indoor arcade whilst the girls went on some more slides and we said we would meet them back up at the top. Whilst we were waiting for them a monkey and dog show was on next to us where they were all dressed up and the monkeys were all sitting in a row waiting for their turn with their legs crossed and just chilling. They looked like people. The dogs were actually amazing; one rode a bike and another was on a rolling barrel style thing whilst one ran through the middle of it.
When we got back onto the mainland we got a taxi back. Because there was a festival on a road was blocked so the taxi had to take a detour. It was ridiculously long though and all we had left was 90,000dong which I told him but I don't think he understood so when we got back and pointed at the meter and it was 130,000dong we couldn't pay so he got mad!! It was a ridiculous price anyway because it was over double what we paid to get there and even with the detour he should have understood we wouldn't have prepared enough money. But he actually locked the doors and started driving us to the police station!! We stopped him thankfully and then Casper and Ulricke from Da Lat walked past and lent us the money thankfully!
We went out for dinner and then to Guava again and spoke to a few people from the night before. We didn't stop there long though and decided to make use of the plasma and dvd player in our room and went back to watch a film. I fell asleep halfway through though.

Gran The "dragon boat" in the photo looks fascinating, and made me wonder what they were used for. A "fun" (aka dangerous--in parts anyway?) day! SOoo glad you didn't end up in gaol after the expensive taxi ride.
