Date: 17th August 2011
Place: Darwin
Weather: Sunny and hot!
Since it was such nice weather up in Darwin and we didn't have much planned for the day we decided to go and chill down by the lagoon for a little while. The girls went to pick up a paper to look for jobs as they are trying to work their way down the west coast.
We were there for a couple of hours but then we got hungry and had cravings for sushi. We decided to go to Coles instead though because it was cheaper. The girls made a really fancy lunch and let me have some again because they had quite a lot. It was nice eating proper food for once.
I had a bit of a chill out session in the room for a few hours then and the internet was finally working so I sorted some bits out on that. I worked out my budget for the last few days and I could either put £100 (which was the minimum amount) onto my prepaid card or really really scrimp for the next few days. I decided scrimping was the way forward.
Since it was my last night out in Australia the girls said they would buy us all some Goon before we went out. It was there first time trying Goon as well and I don't think they were too impressed. I thought it tasted alright after mixing it with Lemonade, no where near as bad as others I've had. We were having a chat about some things and when they didn't know the words in English they would ask each other and at a few points I told them the word when they said it in German! I was so proud that I remembered some bits from GSCE!!
We went back to Underground that night and ended up dancing with a group of guys that later turned out to be touring the country and were world champion Rodeo bull riders! Random!! They were funny guys though and it was a great last night. I was up dancing until 4am and then we head back to the hostel and sat by the pool for a while all talking.
They threatened to throw me in the pool so took my camera out of my pocket so they didn't break it. They didn't throw me in the pool thankfully but whilst my camera was on the table someone took it. I don't really understand how because there was hardly anyone around but it was gone. I was hoping that one of the guys who had gone back to their room had taken it for a joke because one of the guys wallet and phone and had been underneath it and they were still there.
Well I didn't worry about it too much then because I was pretty convinced it hadn't been stolen. I went to bed at 6am though which wasn't good!!

Gran Congrats on your skill in German! Bet you never thought you'd use it in Oz.
