So today we took the ferry over to Magnetic Island. It took 20 minutes to get there and on arrival the bus to Horseshoe Bay ha a long queue so we decided to take the bus to Picnic Bay. Picnic Bay was pretty but with not much to do, we decided to get the bus an hour later back to Horseshoe Bay. Horseshoe Bay was home to the Koala park. So we are in Townsville for 3 full days but today we decided to take it easy and find a bit of sun. The beach is so picturesque I only had to take one photo because it really did look like that! We lay underneath some palm trees on the grass before moving to a beach we could swim at (due to the jellyfish you have to swim in nets). We found the bay and I went straight in! The water was so warm, I didn't want to get out. We than snoozed on the beach and then after...

And now we say goodbye to Cairns and take the 6 hour coach to Townsville. The greyhound was full and we realised how we have to make sure that we sit next to one another on long journeys. It was interesting to see all the sugar cane and banana groves along the way - something I'd never associated with Australia.

So today we went to Kuranda, a village in the Rainforest with a butterfly sanctuary that we reached by cable car. The Skyrail was amazing. We had a good 30 minutes of stunning scenery as we sped over the canopy. There were stops along the way were we could get out and walk through the trees on a boardwalk to viewpoints obscured from the Skyrail. On arrival the heavens opened! It was horrible having to wear a rain mac in such humidity but we were soon under cover...

So we finally arrived in Cairns. But it was raining! But the heat made up for it. Our grumpy taxi driver dropped us at the corner of the Esplanade and just pointed casually down the street towards our hostel and didn't help us get our bags out of the car so we got nice and wet. The hostel wasn't far, so we got straight to our room ignored the filthy sheets and showered. Best shower ever. So we ventured around a few blocks and decided to have dinner but after 30 ...
