Left Base at half 9 the next morning, had slept really well, again! Think its because the days are so busy! This day and the next involved quite a bit of being on the coach but it never bothered us, we'd either sleep, chat, read or look at the scenery. Got on the bus and drove to another national park. It was one of the main filming locations for Lord of the Rings, and you could see it! Did a two hour walk and the amount of different environments we saw…. Could be walking through a desert like bit then into a foresty bit. There was a stunning waterfall too. Everyone we passed was in proper hiking gear and we must have looked out of place in our flip flops! Good walk though. Looked round the visitors centre then got back on the bus and drove to our next hostel in River Valley. It's marked in our guides as "unique location" and it really was gorgeous. Drove down to the middle of the valley to a secluded hostel right by the river. The hostel itself was sooo nice, great lounge/dining area, a kitchen, loads of places to sit outside etc and ofcourse the river. The bedrooms were lovely me and Mike got a double as it was only a tiny bit more, comfiest bed ever! It was all really authentic, a few people running it together (a bit crazy , but maybe that's a slight case of cabin fever which you could understand), there was a camping site and all the bathroom etc in a little shack. On the first evening a few people went for a swim and I had a go on the pully over the river which was really fun and managed not to fall in!! Then, about 10 of us had pre booked a BBQ meal for dinner. Have never enjoyed food so much, was absolutely gorgeous food and nice to eat something other than bread or fast food!!!! Definitely worth the money, everyone else wish they'd had the BBQ too and it was so good I honestly felt bad for them haha. Had a pretty chilled out night after that chatting and playing a few games and fell straight to sleep as soon as my head hit the pillow….
