Wow, thinking about the begining of today feels like ages ago!! But I will try my best, in the 14 mins I have, to remember the day! This morning me and Mike were woken up at 6 by some random lady shouting outside but decided to get up then anyway, as we needed to go online to sort out our cashcards. (We were planning to go the night before but i was feeling poorly so went to bed). Did that, packed our things, then went down the bus stop at 8.40 to get picked up for the Kiwi Experience! Didnt know what to expect but there were loads of us getting on. At first, no one really spoke to eachother so me and Mike were a bit worried that it would stay that way. Went round picking people up, then went to the Kiwi base to sort out tickets etc. Got a really good book telling us what to expect on the trip. After that, the experience really started and the day got better and better. We went to the top of mount Eden, the largest volcano in Auckland (out of 6). There was a huge crater and amazing views. Crazy to see massive volcanos in the middle of a city! We then got on the coach and drove to a really pretty... I guess you'd describe it as a motorway services/retail park. Nothing like the ones in England as it was by a beack and surrounded by mountains and, again, beautiful views! Had lunch there, then another trip to Hot Water Beach, by far my highlight of the trip so far! Basically, its a beautiful beautiful beach. Like a postcard :-) But it was amazing because there's an area of the beach where you can dig your own hot water pools! And when i say hot, I mean really really hot... You just dig a hole and it fills with naturally hot water. There were loads of pools people had dug, some were to hot to even dip your feet into but loads had paths to the sea so they were mixing with cold water. Just like sitting in a bath but with better views. We also swam in the sea which was cold but sooo nice as it was a really hot day. Should have put on suncream........ :-s Only had an hour at the beach which was a shame as we'd have really liked to have stayed longer. Didnt get any photos either Im afraid. Anyway, then we came to our hostel, which I love! Its at Mecury Bay and it a family owned place but its perfect. Theres little huts for rooms, a bar, poool table, dart board, kitchen, patio area... everything you could want. We had dinner made for us, the people that run it are lovely and they gave me and Mike a free upgrade to a double room without us even asking!! The room is gorgeous , so sweret in a little hut onto the garden. Tonight we've managed to chat to everyone on the bus and its such a good group. Think everyone was just nervous earlier like us! Anyway I've impressed with the darts, not so much with the pool but having a really awesome night. Best day yet, cant wait for tommorw x
