Up and out for the 9:10 bus. Quick trip into Adelaide to the other major opal jewellers. Bought a black opal 18k white gold pendant. Nothing I've bought matches each other but that's ok. The ring was a doublet, which is a base layer of cheap opal and then the expensive opal on top. The pendant is a solid opal which is why it's expensive. Another cold start to the day. Decided to take the bus into Adelaide. Stopped to look in a shop called 'opal field gems'. They had a replica of a mine and a small 'museum'. It wasn't really a museum just a gift shop. The opals in the shop above were very nice, but the sales staff were extremely snooty and cold. We left there soon after.
