Well I am now in Hong Kong. China was good. It's an interesting place. Beijing isn't the best city in the world and doesn't give the best first impression of China. It is very political and the communism and propaganda are very apparent. When you get out into central China and the countryside though it is lovely. Well since my last blog entry I've been very busy travelling through central China with a tour. From Beijing we travelled down to Xi'An and saw the Terracotta Warriors which were an impressive sight. Xi'An itself is a nice city. We then travelled down to Chongqing and boarded a boat for a 2 day cruise along the Yangtze River and through the Three Gorges. The scenery here was amazing and it was a really nice and peaceful two days. After here we went to Long Sheng....

Yesterday I headed out to the Great Wall of China. We started our hike in an area called JinShanLing and we hiked all the way along to the area known as Simatai. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done. It was so hot which made it worse aswell. Some parts were like rock climbing. I am not near the earthquake affected area and didn't feel it here, although a few people did and some high rise buildings were evacuated. Well I have now arrived in Beijing. The flight wasn't too bad except for the Chinese lady next to me who insisted on keeping her overhead light on all through the (night) flight, even when she was asleep!! Needless to say I didn't get to sleep much. Beijing itself is good so far. I walked up to Tiannamen Square today and will go inside the Forbidden City and look around there tomorrow.
