Well I have now arrived in Beijing. The flight wasn't too bad except for the Chinese lady next to me who insisted on keeping her overhead light on all through the (night) flight, even when she was asleep!! Needless to say I didn't get to sleep much.

Beijing itself is good so far. I walked up to Tiannamen Square today and will go inside the Forbidden City and look around there tomorrow. It's quite dusty and windy here and need to get used to the clearing of phlegm in the throat by the Chinese men (such a lovely sound), but apart from that it's a busy place with a lot going on. So far so good.

Off now for some dinner and a well deserved sleep
