Taupo is beautiful! We are staying in a nice hostel overlooking Lake Taupo with a view of the Tongario Crossing.

We've booked to go on a cruise to see the Maori Carvings, we arrive and the sky is clear but it's freezing! There is free tea, coffee and biscuits on the boat so we're happy!

We arrive at the carvings about 2 hours later and we are both amazed to find out the history behind these famous maori carvings.....

They were done with power tools and scaffolding about 20 years ago!!!!
