Our flight went super fast because everyone slept... And we caught a jet stream that shaved 1.5 hours off the flying time. A few rough patches, including a lightning storm, but not a bad flight overall, and we touched down in Auckland in the rain and dark at 5.30am. A slight car park issue as the machine didn't recognise our card and wasn't going to let us out, but we got it sorted and were on our way. We headed down to Hamilton and called in to see our friends, and eat a breakfast we didn't think we wanted...until we smelt it and realised we did! After filling our bellies we got back in the car and drove straight back through to Wellington, we all just wanted to go home. We were greeted by a lovely clean house, and an excited cat who came running to see us, so that was nice! We all fell into our beds and slept like logs...you can't beat your own bed. To sum up, we've had an amazing time, seen and done some fabulous things, and met some wonderful people. We have only dipped our toes into what USA is, but it has been an excellent introduction to the different landscapes and cultures of this vast continent. The wedding was a highlight for us all, it was like nothing we have ever experienced and made for some wonderful memories. It was, after all the reason for us doing this trip in the first place. But aside from that, to answer the "what did you like best" question, this is what we think, today...it may change from day to day and we all agree we need more than just five favourites!
