Today we packed up early and hit the road to Milford Sound...about 2.5 hours drive away. There is heaps to see on the road, and it is amazing how the landscape changes. We were surprised to see Avalanche warnings, because there was not very much snow, but later learned that they also have rock avalanches and tree avalanches. Today, after more time playing In Jan and Laura's awesome garden we packed up again and headed towards our next stop, Te Anau, via Queenstown. The road trip was interesting, the Crown Range is rugged and windy and not great for reading, so we had another audio book: The Waterhorse...it was brilliant.
