Another ultimate bucket list entry. New Year in Sydney at the Opera House watching the celebrations.
So we check in to our penultimate hotel and not a bad one in a great part of Sydney Darling Harbour great resturants and places to celebrate. We spend our time here exploring everywhere, we shopped till we dropped, ate in the revolving sky tower resturant. Here Louise tried Kangaroo and Crocodile sausages, we travelled by bus, boat and train.
First stop Manly Beach world renowed and such a lovely beach and vibe.
On Sunday we explored the Blue Mountains the weather was pants but it did not stop us. We caught the train and at 2 dollars for a few hour train journey (one stop price on a Sunday, UK got a lot to learn) it was amazing. Lovely views, mine trains and jungle adventure.
So New Years day arrive, we set off early 9am Door open 9.30am and head loaded with the necessaries to the Sydney Opera House. We follow the hoards and end up camped on the west side of the SOP overlooking the Sydney Harbour bridge and then we wait and wait, and wait and wait and wait and wait you get the message. We had to stay hydrated and out of the sun (not an easy task) and 13 hours later the festivities start. Yes we saw and then left. People then just went home. What 12.30 and it was done well all apart from the chip on a stick (love em)
Overall what to say anticlimax! Strange but true but done BIG TICK
The real big highlight in Sydney was the sport overload and introduction to The Big Bash we travelled to the olympic park and watched a quality Basketball game and spent a cracking, cheap ticketed evening watching the Sydney Thunder cricket team.
Onward to Singapore.
